Enterprise for the Americas Initiative and the GATT Policy Negotiations

In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of Enterprise for the Americas Initiative: A program launched in 1990 as a vehicle for defining a new US economic relationship with Latin America, including eventual free trade within the Western Hemisphere. The three pillars of the EAI are trade, debt, and investment. See Framework Agreement(2).
