Magnitude

Magnitude

Constituency or District Magnitude in Election Law

One of the main variables of electoral systems. The magnitude of the constituency means the number of seats allocated to a district/constituency, which is to say, the number of representatives to be elected in that constituency. This is a major determinant of the ability of an electoral system to distribute obtained seats proportionately.
