Legal Issues

Burnett’s The Law of International Business Transactions (The Federation Press, Sydney, 1994) covers the areas of sale of goods, carriage of goods, financing of international transactions, GATT, export and import control, and international services trade. Day’s The Law of International Trade (2nd ed, Butterworths, London, 1993) deals with the areas of the carriage of goods by sea, air and land; contracts of sale; insurance in the international sale transaction; payment in international sales; and disputes in international transactions. Schmitthoff ‘s Export Trade: the Law and Practice of International Trade (9th ed, Steven & Sons, London, 1990), a recognised authority in the area of international trade law, covers the topics of contracts for the sale of goods; English marketing organisations abroad; finance, insurance and transportation of exports; international commercial dispute settlement; construction and long-term contracts and customs law.(1)
