In this context, Population Not Using Improved Water Source means:

_alculated as 100 minus the percentage of the population using an improved water source. Unimproved sources include vendors, bottled water, tanker trucks and unprotected wells and springs.

Population Using Improved Water Source (in the Human Development Area)

In this context, Population Using Improved Water Source means:

the share of the population with reasonable access to any of the following types of water supply for drinking: household connections, public standpipes, boreholes, protected dug wells, protected springs and rainwater collection. Reasonable access is defined as the availability of at least 20 litres a person per day from a source within one kilometer of the user's dwelling.
