Green Box and the GATT Policy Negotiations

In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of Green Box: A term used in the context of GA TT negotiations on agriculture and on export subsidiesto refer to a category of official support measures that are deemed to be permissible, and hence are not subject to countervailing duties by an importing country. Measures often proposed for inclusion in a Green Box include development subsidies and privatization subsidies.
