Enrolment Rate, Net (in the Human Development Area)

In this context, Enrolment Rate, Net means: the number of pupils of the theoretical school-age group for a given level of education level who are enrolled in that level, expressed as a percentage of the total population in that age

Gross Enrolment Ratio (in the Human Development Area)

In this context, Gross Enrolment Ratio means: the total number of pupils or students enrolled in a given level of education, regardless of age, expressed as a percentage of the population in the theoretical age group for the same level of education. For the tertiary level, the population used is the fiveyear age group following on from the secondary school leaving age. Gross enrolment ratios in excess of 100% indicate that there are pupils or students outside the theoretical age group who are enrolled in that level of education.

In this context, Gross Enrolment Ratio means: total enrolment in a given level of education, regardless of age, expressed as a percentage of the official schoolage population for the same level of education.
