Constituency established specifically for one particular election, which is therefore redefined periodically.
Electoral Constituency in Election Law
Geographic or demographic unit within a state where residents are called upon in accordance with the electoral legal framework to elect one or more representatives. Administrative areas can be the same as electoral areas, but the latter can also be defined especially for an election or referendum.
Multi-member Constituency in Election Law
Constituency represented by more than one seat which candidates or lists of candidates compete to win.
Run-off Constituency in Election Law
Constituency or district in which seats cannot be allocated following the first round of an election because no candidate has obtained the required majority, as a result of which a second round of voting must be organised.
Single-member District or Constituency in Election Law
Constituency represented by a single seat which different candidates compete to win.
