Literature Review on (Research Methods) Q Methodology

In the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy, [1] Dan Durning offers the following summary about the topic of (Research Methods) Q Methodology: Q methodology was created as a method for the systematic study of subjectivity. It seeks to reveal the world from the standpoint of an individual. As an intensive methodology, it provides insights not available from conventional R methodology statistics. Although Q methodology makes use of factor analysis, its stance is more like qualitative methodologies that seek to understand individuals in their full complexity. It is consistent with phenomenological, hermeneutic, postpositivist, and quantum theories. In recent years, Q methodology has been used by a growing number of public administration and public policy scholars in their research.
