Regional Appellation Certificate

Regional Appellation Certificate

Summary of Regional Appellation Certificate

A document prepared by a recognized local authority certifying that certain referenced merchandise derives from a given defined geographic area. This document is akin to a Certificate of Origin (read this and related legal terms for further details) but is issued on behalf of items produced within a given locale. For example, a certificate may attest that certain brandy was produced within the Cognac region of France and is entitled therefore to be sold as “Cognac.”
