Industry Functional Advisory Committee (IF AC) in relation with International Trade

In the context of trade organizations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following definition of Industry Functional Advisory Committee (IF AC): One of more than 30 technical, sectoral, and functional committees forming part of the private sector advisory system established by Congress to ensure that US trade policy and negotiating objectives reflect US commercial and economic interests. The three IF ACs provide cross-sectoral technical advice on standards, customs, and intellectual property issues. IFAC members are appointed jointly by the USTR and the Secretary of Commerce.
