Harbor Dues

Harbor Dues

Summary of Harbor Dues

Charges levied by a local port authority upon vessels entering a harbor; their purpose is to maintain channels, buoys, and similar facilities. Normally these charges are absorbed by the vessel, but they may be passed on to shippers in the form of a freight surcharge.
