General License
Summary of General License
A privilege extended by the Federal government that permits exportation of various nonstrategic materials to certain countries without the necessity of formally applying for a validated export license. The general license is a legal illusion; no application is required and no document is issued. However, by maintaining the premise that every export shipment is “licensed,”the government reserves the right to withdraw a firm's export “privilege,”should that become desirable.
