GATT Standing Committee and the GATT Policy Negotiations

In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of GATT Standing Committee: A permanent body of GATT members dealing with a specific area of trade policy. Includes the Committee on Trade in Industrial Products and the Agriculture Committee (both currently subsumed by the Uruguay Round negotiations under Track 1); the Committee on Tariff Concessions; the Committee on Balance of Payments Restrictions; the Committee on Trade and Development; the Textile Surveillance Board; and various the GATT Code Committees (see entries in Sec. III).
