Summary of Federal Bills Of Lading Act

Known commonly as the Pomerane Act, the principal Federal statute on the subject of bills of lading covering transportation of goods in interstate and foreign commerce. Passed in 1915, the act deals with substantive issues of form, endorsement, and delivery of bills of lading. The act also provides criminal penalties for forgeries and frauds relating to bills covered by the act. See bill of Lading.
