Campaign Financing

Campaign Financing or Finance in Election Law

Financial resources needed to cover the costs of an election campaign, so that candidates may publicise their political programme. In democratic countries, campaign financing is regulated by law to ensure political independence and to provide equal chances to all candidates. There are two types of campaign financing: public and private, both of which are generally capped and monitored.
