Australia-New Zealand Closer Economic Relations Outline

This refers to a bilateral agreement entitled ‘the Australia New Zealand Closer Economic Relations – Trade Agreement’, made and entered into force in 1983. The agreement contains 26 articles. Its main purpose is to reduce trade barriers between the countries gradually and progressively, and ultimately to eliminate them. Its economic significance is limited to the volume of trade between Australia and New Zealand.(1)
