Structural Impediments Initiative (SII) and the GATT Policy Negotiations

In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of Structural Impediments Initiative (SII): A series of bilateral negotiations begun in 1989 by the United States and Japan to identify and attempt to reduce “structural” impediments to trade between the two countries.
