Summary of Readily Marketable Staples

Merchandise suitable for warehouse financing under eligible banker’s acceptances, as was provided in U.S. Federal Reserve regulation A (for more details visit the resource). To qualify as a readily marketable staple, an item must be “an article of commerce, agriculture, or industry” that was constantly traded in spot markets and was not so perishable as to be in danger of losing value through spoilage during the life of the draft drawn to finance its purchase.
