Catlaw and Margaret Stout provide the following summary about the topic of (Policy Analysis) Postmodern Approaches: While somewhat limited to date, distinct elements of postmodernism can be discerned in the contemporary literature analyzing both the study and the making of public policy. Considered in this entry are the meaning of postmodernism, the historical condition referred to as postmodernity, broad categories of postmodern theory, and a discussion of ways in which postmodern ideas have influenced the contemporary understanding of the study and making of public policy. In conclusion, future trends and criticisms of postmodern approaches in public policy are discussed.
