Export Control Statement

Summary of Export Control Statement

A notation required to be entered upon the shipping documents of virtually all commercial exports leaving the United States. A statement for certain licensed commodities, for example, reads: “These commodities licensed by the United States for ultimate destination (name of country). Diversion contrary to U.S. law prohibited.” Other statements, in lieu of the foregoing, may be required, depending upon the commodity and country of destination. The use of such statements is mandatory and is prescribed in Section 386.6 of the Export Administration Regulations.
