Dry-Docking Clause

Dry-Docking Clause

Summary of Dry-Docking Clause

A provision common to many time charter contracts that stipulates that the vessel shall be docked and its bottom cleaned and painted at such times as the master and charterer shall deem appropriate, but in no case less frequently than every nine months. During the period when the vessel is in dry-dock for such work, payment of hire on the vessel ceases.
