Arrived Ship
Summary of Arrived Ship
A vessel under charter that has arrived at its point of loading or discharge; laytime (read this and related legal terms for further details) will begin to accrue from the time of arrival. A vessel has arrived if it fills three conditions: (1) the ship must have docked at the point of loading or discharge, as provided in the charter agreement; (2) the ship must be ready to commence loading or discharge operations; and (3) appropriate notice of readiness must have been delivered to the shipper or consignee; normally, this notice must be in writing in advance of the arrival of the ship.
