Counteroffer in International Trade

Meaning of Counteroffer, according to the Dictionary of International Trade (Global Negotiator): A reply to an offer that adds to, limits, or modifies materially the terms of the offer. A seller, for example, who accepts a buyer's offer, but informs the buyer that the goods will be of a different colour has made a counteroffer. See offer.
