Summary of World Trade Data Report

A service provided to American manufacturers by the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce as a stimulus to exports. For a fee of forty dollars, an American exporter may secure from the International Trade Administration a report on a potential trading partner. The report typically includes background information on the firm, including year established and number of employees; area and volume of sales activity; list of products offered; and U.S. embassy commercial officer’s comments. World trade data reports may be obtained by completing Department of Commerce form ITA- 431, available from any office of the International Trade Administration. Reports are not available for firms in the United States, Puerto Rico, or U.S. possessions, or any Soviet bloc country.
