Waiver and the GATT Policy Negotiations
In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of Waiver: A legal exception in GA n whereby a contracting party –with the approval of other GATT members –may maintain a specific practice that would otherwise violate the MFN principle or other GATT obligation.
Waiver in International Trade
Meaning of Waiver, according to the Dictionary of International Trade (Global Negotiator): A formal exemption of a right to claim.
Notice, Waiver
From the book The Clergyman’s Hand-book of Law, about Notice, Waiver (1): When the laws of the church provide the tribunal and procedure, if the person proceeded against avoids the service of the notice or refuses to submit to the court, the notice of trial required to be served might thereby be considered waived and the tribunal might proceed with the trial in the absence of the accused.365
