Mixed Voting System in Election Law
A system which combines elements of majoritarian and proportional representation systems. There are two kinds of mixed systems: parallel systems and Mixed Member Proportional Systems.
Two-round or Run-off Majoritarian Voting System in Election Law
System in which candidates run for a single seat in a constituency or district. An absolute majority is needed to obtain the seat. If no candidate in the constituency wins in the first round of voting, a second round is held in which only the two highest scoring candidates take part. The second-round winner is the candidate who obtains the highest number of votes. In some countries, more than two candiadtes can run in the second round if they get a certain percentage of votes.
