Summary of Stale Document

A document presented after the time customarily allowed for such presentations. For example, the Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits provides that bills of lading dated more than twenty-one days prior to presentation will be unacceptable under letter of credit transactions, unless the letter of credit specifically authorizes a later presentation.
