Seizure (law), in law, taking possession of property or an individual by legal process. Seizure of property by law enforcement officers often takes place to satisfy a judgment against the owner of the property. Seizure of an individual can include, not only arrest, but any restraint on an individual’s freedom to walk away.” (1)
