Summary of Schedule B Number

A seven-digit commodity number prescribed in the U.S. Census Bureau's Schedule B (Statistical Classification of Domestic and Foreign Commodities Exported from the United States). The appropriate Schedule B number applicable to a product must be shown on the Shipper's Export Declaration at time of export from the United States. The purpose of the number is to identify U.S. exports by product and to regulate the exportation of controlled articles.
