Literature Review on Policy Termination

In the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy, [1] Mark R. Daniels offers the following summary about the topic of Policy Termination: This entry reviews the literature on policy termination, which occurs when one policy is adopted to abolish another. When termination occurs, it does so with either a bang, as a result of resistance or controversy causing the change in an abrupt, forceful fashion; or a whimper, as a result of a long-term decline in the organizational resources that supported the original policy.
