Petition and the GATT Policy Negotiations
In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of Petition: A request to investigate alleged dumping by foreign companies or export subsidies by a foreign government. Petitions are usually filed with a designated governmental agency of the importing country by private firms or industry associations, although sometimes governments independently initiate unfair trade investigations.
