Party Convention

Party Convention in Election Law

Periodic meeting of a party's leaders and delegates to discuss and approve the party's platform and position on key questions in an upcoming election, as well as to elect the party leaders for a given period, usually until the next convention. During a convention, party candidates are often nominated or elected to run for political positions.
