Summary of Pallet Allowance

A provision in some ocean tariffs that the cubic measurement of pallets used in unitized cargoes will be deducted from total cubic measurement for computation of freight. This allowance reflects the carrier's ease of handling palletized cargo. Normally, pallet dimensions must be shown on the bill of lading to accrue the deduction.
