Navy League

History of the Navy League

The following commentary about Navy League in the Churchill Era is produced by the Churchill College (Cambridge): There were two navy leagues, one German and one British. They were pressure groups calling for naval expansion in the years before the First World War. The British league campaigned for eight dreadnoughts with the slogan “We want eight, and we won't wait!”
