United States views on international law [1] in relation to Nagorno-karabakh: The State Department issued a press statement on November 19, 2013 welcoming the Armenia-Azerbaijan summit on Nagorno-Karabakh held that day in Vienna under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. The meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was their first in almost two years. The United States serves as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group along with Russia and France.

On December 5, 2013, the State Department issued a media note containing the joint statement by the heads of delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries and the foreign ministers of Azaerbaijan and Armenia. Included in the joint statement is the indication of continued engagement and future meetings to advance the peace process.
