African Growth and Opportunity Act (“AGOA”) in 2013
United States views on international law [1] in relation to Agoa: On December 23, 2013, President Obama issued a proclamation, designating Mali as a beneficiary sub-Saharan African country pursuant to the African Growth and Opportunity Act (“AGOA”). 78 Fed. Reg. 80,415 (Dec. 31, 2013). The President had terminated Mali’s designation as a beneficiary sub-Saharan African country in 2012. The determination to restore Mali’s designation was based on actions Mali had taken over the past year.
