Legal Weight
Summary of Legal Weight
The total weight of a product and its immediate packaging, but not including any outer packaging. For example, the legal weight of canned fruit would include the fruit itself, plus the cans, but not the cartons in which the cans were packed. The legal weight is used in some countries for purposes of computing specific duties.
