Civic Journalism in Election Law

Practice and set of values that aim to integrate journalism into the democratic process, based on the belief that such journalism fulfils a public obligation. This goes beyond informing the public, working towards engaging citizens and creating public debate. It is an attempt to abandon the notion that journalists and their audiences are spectators in political and social processes. It is also an effort to reach out to the public and to listen to how citizens frame their problems and what they see as solutions in order to include this input in news reports.
