International Maritime Satellite Organization Outline

INMARSAT was established in 1979 pursuant to an international convention made in 1976 by the members of IMO: see 2.57. Its membership is open to any country. Its main task is to improve and coordinate maritime satellite communications between the members, such as managing space segments for improving maritime and aeronautical communications. Its headquarters are in London.(1)
