International Finance Corporation
International Finance Corporation Outline
The IFC is part of the World Bank. It came into force in 1956 pursuant to the Articles of Agreement of the International Finance Corporation of 1955. Its main function is to facilitate the supply of funds to private enterprises in order to encourage or utilise private investments for the purposes consistent with the functions of the IBRD. Its membership consists of IBRD members only and its headquarters are in Washington, DC.(1)
