The International Criminal Court (ICC) was established with the purpose of ending impunity and ensuring the effective prosecution of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and crimes of aggression. Benjamin B. Ferencz, a former Nuremburg prosecutor has said, “There can be no peace without justice, no justice without law and no meaningful law without a Court to decide what is just and lawful under any given circumstances.”That Court is the International Criminal Court.
