Industrial Targeting and International Trade Economy

In relation to international trade economy, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following definition of Industrial Targeting: Selection by a government of industries deemed imponant to the evolution of the economy, and encouraging their development through explicit policy measures. The teI1I1 usually connotes a more narrow spectrum of industrial policy measures focused specifically on increasing competitiveness in export markets.
