Hong Kong was a somewhat autonomous city-state under British control until July 1, 1997, when the city was returned to China.

Judicial Opinions: Recent judicial opinions are posted free by the Hong Kong Legal Information Institute. Lexis has Hong Kong cases from various courts back to 1947 (HKALL). Westlaw has Hong Kong cases from the Hong Kong Law Reports back to 1905 (HK-RPTS-DIGEST), as well as the Hong Kong Latest Judgment Alert Service(HK-LJAS) and the Hong Kong Case Digests, which summarizes decisions back to 1985 from the Hong Kong regional courts and the Privy Council of Great Britain (HK-DIGEST).
