Hare Quota
Hare Quota in Constitutional Law
From the Comparative Constitutions Project: The Hare quota is a formula used to calculate the minimum number, or quota, of votes required to capture a seat in some forms of single transferable vote or largest remainder method partylist proportional representation voting systems. In mathematical terms, the quota=[total number of votes/total number of seats]. It produces larger numerical quotas, which has the effect of increasing the number of candidates elected without receiving a full quota.
