Summary of Geographic Structure

A form of organization employed by some multinational firms in structuring their control of international markets. The firm divides the world into various contiguous geographic segments, each directed by a general manager or similar officer who reports to headquarters. Within each geographic sector, a wide variety of the firm's products is sold using substantially the same marketing apparatus and distribution channels. See Product Structure.
