Foreign Corporation

Foreign Corporation

Summary of Foreign Corporation

A corporation operating in a jurisdiction other than the one in which it was chartered. For example, a corporation chartered in France and one chartered in Connecticut would be equally foreign in New York. Occasionally the term alien corporation is applied to distinguish corporations chartered in non-U.S. jurisdictions.
