Exclusive Use
Summary of Exclusive Use
The use of a trailer, container, or similar transport equipment solely by one shipper to one consignee. The carrier is denied the option of stowing other cargo in the trailer, although space permits. Normally the shipper must request the exclusive use in advance of the actual movement and must note the bill of lading accordingly; in most tariffs, certain minimum revenues or premiums extend to this service.
