Summary of Ex

Literally, “from”; in transportation usage, it is the point from which the product is shipped, not necessarily its point of origin; for example, a machine made in Kentucky and exported through the port of Norfolk is said to have been shipped “ex Norfolk.”In price quotes, ex indicates that the pricing is predicated upon making the goods available at that point for pickup by the purchaser, who will bear all charges beyond the named point.
