Summary of Equipment Interchange Receipt

A document prepared by a carrier or lessor company or other firm having control over containers or trailers to be executed by a lessee, carrier, or other person taking delivery of those containers or trailers for use in the transport of goods. The interchange receipt serves as an acknowledgment that physical custody of the containers has changed hands, and it usually contains standard clauses relating to return of the equipment, provisions for repairs, etcetera.
