Summary of Eo Nomine

One of three methods for the classification of merchandise for duty purposes. The eo nomine method relies upon finding the common name of the product within the tariff schedules. In the event that the product is not described by name within the tariff schedules, the customs examiner may classify the product according to its intended use, or the materials of which it is composed.
